More than a place to stay
At L’Ancienne Distillerie, we’ve created a place where holidays can be as relaxed or as active as you want them to be.
Our four gîtes sit within a peaceful former Cognac distillery, surrounded by gardens and the vineyards of the Grande Champagne countryside. There’s plenty of space to spread out, a large pool for sunny days, a games room when you fancy some competition and quiet corners where you can simply sit back and do nothing.
Because we’re a small, family-run estate, the atmosphere is friendly and personal rather than busy or crowded. You have your own private gîte but you’re also welcome to enjoy the shared spaces and, if you’d like some ideas, we’re always happy to share our favourite places and experiences nearby.
Sunny days start here
When the sun comes out, there’s nowhere better to be.
Our large 13m x 6m outdoor pool is set within a secure enclosed courtyard, with plenty of space around it for sunbathing, reading, relaxing and keeping an eye on the children.
Take a morning swim, cool off after a day exploring Cognac or spend a lazy afternoon in the sunshine. The pool is shared between our four gîtes, but with only a small number of guests, it never feels like a busy holiday complex.
Fun games for everybody
Pool, table tennis, table football, darts, outdoor games, board games, kids toys and books.
The games room is one of those places where children disappear for an hour… and adults somehow end up joining in too!
It’s ideal for a bit of friendly competition, a rainy afternoon or simply keeping everyone entertained when you’ve had enough of the sunshine.
And if you’re travelling with a group, it gives everyone somewhere to escape to when they need a little space.

Holiday meals taste better outside!
Make the most of the long summer days with a BBQ or a relaxed lunch while the children play nearby.
With a large BBQ area, outdoor seating and plenty of space, there’s no need to dress up or stick to a timetable. Pick up some local produce, open a bottle and enjoy the simple pleasure of eating together.
The best holiday memories aren’t always the big days out. Sometimes they are the evenings when nobody is in a hurry…
A garden made for slowing down
Our gardens are made for those wonderfully unplanned holiday moments.
Find a shady spot with a book, stretch out in the hammock, challenge someone to a game of pétanque or badminton, let the children burn off some energy on the swings and slide or simply wander among the trees and enjoy the peace and quiet.
There’s plenty of room for everyone to find their own favourite corner and no need to rush anywhere.
Sometimes the best holiday activity is doing absolutely nothing.
