Segonzac is the capital of the “Grande Champagne” area, 1er cru de Cognac. This “terroir” is the lifeblood of the area and this fascinating 500-year-old Cognac industry is well worth exploring. The town of Cognac and its world renowned Cognac houses such as Hennessy, Martell and Rémy Martin are only 15 minutes away and a wealth of wonderful local producers also offer tours of their distilleries right on our doorstep, in Segonzac.

Within 30 minutes of L’Ancienne Distillerie, you’ll have a hard time choosing between canoeing down the river, cycling in the vines, zip lining through the woods, walking in the woods, riding ‘off-road’ electric scooters, going treasure hunting, visiting roman churches or even going water-skiing!

And of course, further afield you’ll find the wonderful towns of Angoulême, Saintes, La Rochelle and Bordeaux. A day-trip to the coast is only 1 hour away and you’ll be able to enjoy sandy beaches, quaint villages and, whilst you’re there, why not try land sailing!
